What are these strange links in my emails?

In the emails that you send out, the system will create unique tracking links that will look like this:

http://email.thepostie.com.au/t/r/l/glkitd/l/j

These links are automatically generated from the system and are used to track users movements through the email campaign. e.g. click through. It is essential to have these links in your campaigns in order to track and gather analytical data about your campaigns.

If you prefer to have your own domain or real URLs displayed then you can turn link tracking off.

We’ve been using Joomla to send out our email campaigns for awhile and ran into issues with server restrictions regarding sending out mass emails. We were also limited in a lot of the statistics that we could gather in the system.

We gave up and started looking for alternative email campaign systems and The Postie was the right choice for us. We didn’t send out email newsletters often so the pricing was very flexible.
